Consultation with my neurologist
I’ve been waiting for this day since my last consultation with Mr Jenkinson which was pretty awful. I came out of there upset and just really frustrated that no one seems to take this seriously! So I had my fingers crossed for today.
Turns out I left there the same as last time!
I asked loads of questions to not really have any answers… Had some tests done on my eyes and medical students analysed them – as usual “bi-lateral ptosis of both eyes more prominent in the left” and Parinaud Syndrome as my eyes go round before they go up/down and have difficulty looking upwards too. Basically I came out once again frustrated, and the next steps are going to be doing electronical tests on my nerves to see what’s causing my legs and the funny painful feelings I get in my arms and legs and he’s going to change my medication too because mine just aren’t working for me – at the moment I’m on Tramadol 2×4, Morphine (Oramorph) A.RQ., Ibuprofen/Ibuprofen Gel x3, Cyclizine x3 and Paracetamol 2×4 – but he’s worried that this new medication because it’s something to do with nerves etc, could actually make me worse.
Anyway he’s going to try and do the electro test in the appointment on the 13th as I’m going to Walton, Liverpool for my spine MRI anyway! It’s a bit short notice though so we may have to do two trips. Then I have another consultation with Mr Jenkinson on the 20th to analyse the MRI which I’m nervous for after the way I left there last time.
I understand that the operation is just way too dangerous and things.. but I just feel like no one is being taken seriously when we spend our days and I mean every single day either in pain or feeling ill. AAAAAARRRGH!
I slept all afternoon because I was upset/not well/in pain but tomorrow is a new day!
P.S. Event at the Hawkings Bar, R.A.F Valley tomorrow! Live music and auction prizes, £3 a ticket!
